Named for the spinning wheel — the slow, steady turn that sits at the heart of Indian craft. Charkha carries that same rotation in its print: medallions blooming outward like sunwheels caught mid-spin, each one a quiet centre of its own. Five wheels arranged across a sand-toned ground, the rhythm steady, the symmetry softened by the wear of the print.
The deep indigo motifs settle into the natural ochre of the jute weave like ink into raw paper — fine where the print has held, faded where it has let go. Between the larger medallions, smaller flourishes echo the geometry, filling the field with a quiet, mandala-like order.
Handwoven on a traditional handloom in a blend of jute and cotton, then hand screen-printed in small batches. The jute lends the weave its honeyed warmth and grounded, tactile body; the cotton softens the surface enough to take the print cleanly. Together they give Charkha its character — earthy underfoot, intricate to the eye.
At home in entryways, beside a low bed, anchoring a reading chair, or layered into a sun-warmed corner. Pairs naturally with cane, terracotta, raw linen, and aged wood.
